2. How We Use Your Information (Business Purposes)

We use your Personal Information and Sensitive Personal Information strictly to provide our identity management and verification services. When using our service you are asking us to share the information you have provided to us with the College Athlete Compensation Scheme operated by Verita. We do not use your information for any purposes other than the following operational business purposes:

  • Identity Verification: To process, analyze, and confirm the authenticity of the government IDs you upload.
  • Account Maintenance: To create, maintain, and secure your user profile.
  • Customer Support: To respond to your support tickets, errors, and inquiries.
  • Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, and prosecute those responsible.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, court orders, or regulations.
  • Getting your Claim ID. We use the information you provide to us to request your information in a structured manner from Verita.

Important Note on Sensitive Personal Information: We only use your uploaded government identification for the necessary operational business purpose of providing the verification service. We do not use it to infer characteristics about you, nor do we use it for marketing or profiling.

3. Disclosing, Selling, and Sharing Personal Information

  • Disclosures for a Business Purpose: In the preceding 12 months, we may have disclosed your Identifiers and Sensitive Personal Information to trusted third-party service providers (such as secure cloud hosting environments or specialized identity-verification APIs) solely to perform services on our behalf. These providers are bound by strict contractual confidentiality agreements.
  • No Sale or Sharing of Data: We do not sell your Personal Information. Furthermore, we do not share your Personal Information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have no actual knowledge of selling or sharing the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.

4. Data Retention Periods

We retain your Personal Information, including uploaded identity documents, only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the business purposes outlined in Section 2, or as required by law.

  • Account Information: Maintained for the duration of your active relationship with us.
  • Our DataBase will delete all information within 3 years.

5. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you (e.g., by denying services or charging different prices) for exercising any of your CCPA/CPRA rights.

To exercise your California rights to know, delete, or correct your information, please submit a verifiable consumer request to us through one of the following methods:

Verification Process: To protect your highly sensitive data, we must verify your identity before processing requests to delete or know. When you make a request, we will ask you to confirm details associated with your account or verify your identity via a secure email link. If we cannot verify your identity to a high degree of certainty, we cannot fulfill requests regarding specific identity documents to prevent identity theft.

7. Data Security

Because you upload government identifiers to GetClaimID, we implement rigorous, industry-standard physical, technical, and administrative security measures. This includes AES-256 bit encryption for data at rest and SSL/TLS encryption for data in transit.
